Bucerius Kunst Forum

The Bucerius Kunst Forum is located right at the Alter Wall. From antiquity to the present – the Bucerius offers four exhibitions per year to its visitors. There, you will find the works of artists like Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Alberto Giacometti, Gerhard Richter, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Marc Chagall or Frida Kahlo. Besides guided tours, the museum also organizes many events, such as concerts or readings and conversations about current exhibitions.

Panik City

There’s always something going on at Hamburg’s Reeperbahn. Since 2018, the fans of singer Udo Lindenberg can enjoy the entertainment district even more. Because since then, the so-called “Kiez” has to offer the unique museum Panik City, which is dedicated to Udo Lindenberg. It allows the visitors to gain an insight to the life work of the artist through multimedia experiences. At the recording studio, you can sing a virtual duet with the artist, and six different rooms offer information about the most important stages in the life of the rock singer.

Internationales Maritimes Museum

In Hamburg’s Speicherstadt, you’ll find the Internationales Maritimes Museum. It offers a unique tour, during which you can discover various ship types and objects used in shipping. The highlight of the museums is the private collection of professor Peter Tamm. It’s the only place where you can marvel at the Queen Mary II or the treasury with precious ships made of gold, silver, and amber.

Museum of Illusions Hamburg

At the Museum of Illusions, your senses will be deceived. But don’t worry! The impressive and surprising exhibits will teach you a lot about the human brain and show you, why many things often appear different at first glance than they really are. For this experience it is best to go to the Anti-Gravity Room or the Rotated Room. Don’t forget to bring your smartphone because this museum is the perfect location for taking pictures.

Deichtorhallen Hamburg

A mix of art and photography is just the right thing for you? Then you should definitely pay a visit to the Deichtorhallen. They comprise three halls at two locations: the Hall for Contemporary Art, the House of Photography, and the Falckenberg Collection. This place offers unforgettable and captivating art. And on top of that, the Deichtorhallen are an architectural monument and part of the five most renowned art exhibition venues in Hamburg.
